What the judges have to say about David Archuleata's performance "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me"

David Archuleta looks so excited and nearly broke down into tears after what the judges said about his first performance.

Randy Jackson: David, it doesn't matter what's gonna happen. You got to know one thing. This is one of the best performances of this whole season. That was an unbelievable molten art.

Paula Abdul: My heart is still pounding. A beautiful performance. It's unbelievable

Simon Cowel: Very easy to get over excited tonight. David, I am going to be honest with you. I thought last week you were okay. I thought tonight's performance was the best you have done so far. Taking everything into account round one goes to Archuleta.

Round 2: Contestants Song Writing Competition Choices:

David Cook: Dream Big

Randy Jackson: I tell you what, the song was just okay to me but what made it really work was you were singing your face off.

Paula Abdul: A song in your heart a guitar in your hand, This is a great way to take a song we don’t know. Congratulations.

Simon Cowell: I thought the end was okay. You made the most of what you had.
It was a bit of a light weight. I thought This is suppose to be like a winning song. It didn't feel like a winning moment for me. The good news is we have got a third song.

David Archuleta: In This Moment

Randy Jackson: I wasn't crazy about the song but that was another hot performance. Beautiful song.

Paula Abdul: It's just another hot performance. It doesn't matter what song you sing, it's like you're on fire tonight. That is why you are in the spot you're in, in the "Finals". So congratulations.

Simon Cowell: I loved the egotistical lyric. Rounds two goes to David Archuleta.

The crowd cheering after round 2 comments from the judges

Round 3: Finalists Choice

David Cook: The World I Know

Randy Jackson: You know, one of the true things about you is that you showing people tonight tonight the different side of David Cook. That was a very nice sensitive side of David Cook. Very nice job dude. Very nice.

Paula Abdul: I look at you upon that stage and you were standing in truth. Unbelievable song. You’re standing in your truth. I truly applaud you David Cook. I do.

Simon Cowell: You are actually one of the most sincere contestant we had. I thought it was a beautiful song but I am going to be honest with you. It was completely and utterly the wrong song choice for you. You should have sung Billie Jean or Hello.

David Archuleta: Imagine

Randy Jackson: You are so good tonight. You were exactly what the show is about. The best season of the season we can find and the best singer of the season is right there.

Paula Abdul: You left me speechless as I was. You were stunning tonight.

Simon Cowell: We’ve taken a little bit of stick this year of the competition but at the end of the day and this show is about finding a star and tonight I think we have witnessed one of the great finalists. My opinion, David you came out here tonight to win and what we have witnessed is a knock-out.
